I’ve been away from here for a while: life has been happening. Summer has arrived in my Valley, even though the calendar says we have a few more days of Spring.
The garden is growing, and we are beginning to harvest some lovely produce. Peas are most often consumed in the garden and on the way back to the house. They are huge this year, and delicious as well. We planted strawberries last year, and are enjoying their ruby red fruits—as long as we beat the slugs to them.
Take a look at today’s harvest, and, as always, feel free to leave me a comment, or a stone (o), to let me know that you’ve stopped by.
It’s not the birds here, Mrs. C, it’s the slugs. They just slime away enough to render the strawberries inedible for us. The chickens, however, are in strawberry heaven!
wow! lovely snapshot! i was interested to see and read this post as i’ve planted my first-ever vegetable garden this year… haven’t reaped much in the way of produce yet… just a few herbs… fingers are crossed though!

I think the birds are getting to our strawberries before we are, miserable little bastids….

Mmmmmmmmmm. Yummy. I grew peas in a garden years ago. They were a lot of work, but MAN they were delicious!
