Spring Comes to the Valley: A My Town Monday Post

Last snow near Elements Gallery, Peninsula, OH

Ask anyone in the Village of Peninsula about Spring and you will most likely get a big smile, and a comment about the weather, the gray skies and sunshine (if we have it that day). The last of the snow that seemed to last forever is gone for now, at least. Plants are emerging from the soil, working their way through the leaves and clumps of soil that have sheltered them throughout the long winter.

Each time I go out, I see more signs of the change of the seasons. Here are a few:

Hooray! It was getting nice & warm here, but the last 2 days saw a sudden return to cool temps & nights around freezing. What’s up with that??? Lots of non-regular birds in my yard lately, too. Trying to get pictures, but it’s hard…

I see green, but no blossoms yet. The forsythia are loaded with buds, though. That’s promise enough for me!

Oh, those are so lovely—I’m jealous! We got about 10 inches of snow last night and it’s still coming down. Springtime in the Rockies. LOL

Here in the UK it’s getting warmer, at last. As an author, I spend most of my time glued to my keyboard, but I do tear myself away from my computer from time to time and have seen snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils.
