A memory from my student days, Pisthetaeros, a character in a play by Aristophanes, He persuades the birds to create a city in the sky, where they’ll be more civilised than the people of athens, and will also challenge the gods. It all works out about as well as you might expect. Mind you, two thousand year-old jokes do tend to fall a bit flat.

Love ‘quaggy’ not least because of its Scrabble potential. My mother used to use the term ‘cloud cuckoo land’ with alarming regularity, according to her it was my homeland!

BTW, you might like the board game, “Balderdash.” Entertaining and educational. I have many hysterical memories because of that game & now I know that “squitters” is a good replacement for the word “diarrhea.”

Love this although I take umbrage at the definition of “cloud cuckoo land.” Just because idealistic states are perfect doesn’t mean they’re unrealistic!
