Nearly Full Moon

Nearly full moonThe air is cold and crisp, the moon approaching full. It is so bright, you can almost read a book. Tonight is the Full Beaver Moon. This would have been the time to set the beaver traps before the swamps froze; it was the time that the beavers would prepare for the long winter ahead. How far removed we have become from our roots. Do you connect with the phases of the moon?

A full beaver moon? I have never heard that expression before! Wow! And speaking of moons–I did enjoy trick or treating under a full moon this Halloween.

I used to spend the night of Oct.’s full moon alone, out in the woods. Great times, those.

What a gorgeous moon. I respond to the full moon. I love to hang outside and just gaze at it and think wonderful thoughts. terrie

Darn it! I knew I should have ordered those traps!

It seems I never get the full moon off anymore. That doesn’t always bode well, but tonight isn’t bad. Really, shouldn’t talk about it, because just talking about having a good night is a certain curse.

I am a “moon child”…My sign is Cancer…..So, yes, I feel very much connected to the phases of the moon. In fact, I like to Howl at the moon when it is full! I did, earlier tonight!

I pay little attention to the phases of the moon, except that I love moonrise of the full moon, especially where I have an unimpeded view to the horizon (like by the sea). When I see that long reflection running towards me, the same song always comes into my head:

“Ain’t the sky just like a river,
Ain’t the moon made of stone,
Ain’t the sky just like a river,
    Rollin’ home.”
