Name that Critter: I Think I Did!

Last week I posted a fuzzy photo of a critter we saw at our family’s tree farm. I think I may have identified it as a red footed cannibal fly. Here is a link.

    Didn’t your mother tell you it’s not safe to play with cannibals? He looks, well, ugly. Nice detail in the photo though.

    Do you think I had an inkling of what he was when I suggested eating him? Yeah, no, I had no such inkling. He looks like a tiny flying monkey to me. :) AND, he has RED SLIPPERS?? Cool!
