Strange Critter…
Last Sunday we went down to some family property a couple of hours south of here. It was a wonderful day, just #2 daughter, my lovely husband of many years, and me. We tromped through brambles and poison ivy, hiked up and down hills and old roads, ate what we wanted when we wanted, and just plan relaxed.
Several times someone suggested that we should really head home. “Why?” another one of us would respond. No one presented a good reason, so we stayed and stayed until the sun started to creep down to the horizon.
I’ll post more photos as I have time to edit them. I apologize for the quality of this one, but since none of us have any idea what this critter is, I thought I’d ask the cyber-community. Any ideas?

Hey Hay and Debra — I don’t know what it is, but I bet it tastes good with gravy!!

Looks like a lizard’s tail and spider legs. At least it does from that picture. Laura should have to taste the dish she proposes first. If she lives, we can join her.

I can’t refuse a dare! I don’t think the vegetarians would allow that poor, homely creature to be eaten, though, so it is safe in Debra’s garden.

Absolutely no idea at all I’m afraid.

Okay, after some investigation, I’m betting on a grasshopper. Perhaps a lubber?

I’m a vegan, and I’d still watch Laura eat one

I can never see the term “vegan” without thinking of aliens who live on a planet orbiting the star Vega (which is pronounced Vee-ga, not Vay-ga).
And how does the soft “g” in “vegetable” get to be a hard “g” in “vegan?” It should be vej-un.
Is it a locust?

I’m afraid I cannot see it well enough to even hazard a guess.
By The Way: This font is so tiny, I think that creature could read it better than me! (lol) Hard on old eyes, you know?
