My mind, as minds are wont to do, juxtaposed your story with the situation in Florida, particularly South Florida and the Everglades. Burmese, and perhaps other, pythons have become a problem. They are happily populating the sub-tropics of Florida, and are a major threat to native wildlife (they even eat alligators, among other things). The State of Florida has basically declared war on them. This problem is, as usual, caused by humans. People get a python for a pet, it gets too big, and they release it into the wild. I believe they should be outlawed as pets, with fines for both sellers and buyers. I enjoyed the little video, what a nice festival.

Though I might not react with pleasure if I found one in my garden shed, I'd still admire it from a distance.
