My Town Monday: Spring in the Valley

It has been such a full week. My time and energies have been with my family, so this post will be some scenes of Spring coming to the Village of Peninsula, population 602. Have a cuppa and enjoy. What’s it like in your neck of the woods?

Peninsula

Towpath

This bridge carries the Towpath Trail over the Cuyahoga River.

Daffodils

Yellow will be peeking out in a day or so, I think.

Hen

I couldn’t resist taking this photo; the hen, however, did not share my enthusiasm.

Pink

A lovely early Spring evening in the Valley.

Ah, spring, and the thoughts of new plans of getting outdoors to enjoy the warmer weather. I cannot wait.

Great photos, esp. the evening sky. It’s nice here today, but we had some much-needed rain yesterday with high winds. Hope the spring flowers bloom soon.

Great photos. That picture of the chicken is giving me flashbacks though. Just before my junior year in high school I went to live with cousins on a farm (I know — it’s usually dogs and cats that get dropped off at farms). It wasn’t a real farm, but they raised their own food and had a big garden. There was a cow, pigs, sheep, chickens and a pony and I helped with chores. I HATED collecting eggs because I didn’t like reaching under those chickens. I wasn’t worried that they’d peck me, but I hated the way their feet looked…kind of reptilian or something. I know. I’m a huge wuss.

Lovely photos, I can’t wait for spring. We just had about 5 inches of fresh snow two days ago!

I await for spring. The lake is still frozen here. But we make progress towards warmer temperatures…

Beautiful. And I saw a whole front garden of crocuses here in Boston today. It is spring!

I scared the birds out of the mailbox today. They were just starting to build their nest-an annual event. I take what they made out, and they gave me stink eye from a nearby tree. Feeling guilty, I put scraps of yarn out to help them feather the nest.
