How convenient to have your post subject right outside your door — i.e. this weather is good for something! :)

I hope you didn’t have to open the door or window to take those photos.

These photos were take through the window, thank goodness. Just got back from the store, a necessary but challenging activity in this weather.

These photographs are incredible, those icicles, I’ve never seen anything like it outside the movies! I love, love, love your thermometer too.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Eryl. The icicles are brought to you by our very old house and it’s uninsulated kitchen window.

Keep the home fires burning! Not quite so icy here but very, very cold. Hibernation time! :)

    Hi Debra,

You know, I miss those icicles. Today I went hiking in the mountains in shorts and tee-shirt, while in the lee of the wind.

I miss that icy cold that Ohio appears to have; and a warm fire and some mulled wine when you are home.

When the sun says goodbye, it is cold in Hong Kong. But it is a wet cold that draws the heat from you. One of the nice aspects of your cold is that once you are warmly dressed, you stay fairly warm.

    I miss those icicles.

But I do not miss scraping windshields.

    Tschuess,
    Chris

Beautiful pictures. Nearly as beautiful as the way my many friends have chipped in to help my family and me during this past two weeks. thank you for being part of that. The shirts were great and my wife loved the pottery pieces as well. Opening them was one of the the few times I’ve seen her smile lately and that alone made my days say thank you. And be sure and tell your husband thanks as well.

We’ve been feeling the single digits here as well. The mercury soared up into the low 20s today and the kids were out in the snow for hours. We were invited to go ice fishing tomorrow. Must. Embrace. Winter.

    The frost photo is stunning.

    Spring IS coming.

Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog. I love these pictures that you have taken! It’s good that you could take them through the window. Looks absolutely frigid out there!
