My Town Monday: Taking a Leisurely Walk Through Town
The Village of Peninsula, Ohio, population 602, is a place where you can walk. There is a walking tour that shows you lots of interesting places in the Village. I’ve been walking through the side streets of my town, discovering things I’d not seen before, and seeing some things in a new way.

You may remember this corner from Python Day.

Canal Street runs near the Canal. I often wonder what is was like when the canal was in full operation.

Nixon is a 4 month old silver lab. He greeted me as lab puppies do,with a wet tongue and a
wagging tail.
There are houses and barns tucked away on the small, winding roads off Main Street.

No place is perfect, and the hazards of cell phone life are the same no matter where you hang your hat.

Amarillo’s own Travis Erwin is the Master Mind behind My Town Monday. Take a trip on over there and you can see the world through the hearts and minds of bloogers all over this fine planet.

Yes, a lovely town. I can’t wait to see your pictures when the leaves start changing. Fall is my favorite season.

Beautiful photos, and Nixon has that “worried” puppy look that is so endearing. I’ve never heard of a Silver Lab before.

I couldn’t help but notice the gorgeous flowers! Probably because I’ve been such a lame gardener this summer.

Oh my gosh — I love My Town Mondays, but that Nixon is so sweet! We have a fox-red lab, but I never heard of a silver one. What will they come up with next?!

Great photos! I plan to do the walking tour soon! When I visit your town, it is always to visit Elements Gallery or the bike path. I need to expand my horizons next time!

Yes, the autumn leaves will be sensational. Is there much to do on a Saturday night there. How far is the nearest movie theater, or play, sports teams?

Thanks, Britta. The historic walking tour is really interesting!
The Cuyahoga Valley is beautiful when the leaves change, Linda. I’ll be sure to post pictures.
Thanks for stopping by, Josh.
Barbara and Lizzy–I had never heard of a silver lab before either. Nixon’s owner told me that it is a recessive trait that is being bred.
Thanks, Terrie. MTM gives me the opportunity to see things in a whole new way.
Barrie–the flowers are beautiful aren’t they. The Garden Club has a lot to do with the flowers throughout the Village.
Laura–I’d never heard of fox-red lab. What are the parents?
Thanks, Msry. I think you’d really like the walking tour!
Patti—we’re not far from Akron and Cleveland, so there are things to do there. Cleveland has the pro-teams, Akron has semi-pro baseball and college sports.
There are movies in Akron ad in the burbs; and theater in Akron, Cleveland,
Hudson and more. There are tons of cultural venues in NE Ohio. That would be an MTM post!

Peninsula has cell phones? Say it isn’t so, Debra!

Your town looks very inviting, and who could resist a welcome wagon with Nixon on board!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment.
What’s with the all caps? I don’t subscribe to the usual Web notion that all caps amount to shouting, but I do think it makes things harder to read.
Doesn’t affect what I think of what’s said, however.

I want to live in that house in the trees.

I guess that NE Ohio is a lot different from Amarillo, Travis.
Ah, Larramie, just because we have cell phones doesn’t mean we have a signal
Thanks, David. Nixon is a sweet dog. I was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by him.
Thanks for stopping by, gerry. Don’t know why some browsers come up with all caps. I surely don’t write it that way.
Eryl—you’d love those houses…
